Just seen that Google+ finally opens up to it's public. I've been lucky enough to get on with an invite and have been using it for a few months. There's not a great deal of people using it and the tumble weed is begining to blow through. Will it be a Facebook killer?
Well, I thought the G+ interface is quite good and I like the idea of 'Cirlces' which enables you to filter who see's your posts. This makes priviacy far better than Facebook offerings... Well up until recently when they itroduced something similar with a drop down box in the post area. I'm not so sure that the FB version is as intuative as G+. the site has already surpassed 25 million members and is expected to reach 100 million members by the end of 2011. In 2004, it took Facebook 10 months to reach 1 million users. We will see...
Hello, welcome to my wiki, bloggy, techy, geeky blog thing that will hopefully contain useful info... bit like a knowledge base but only for stuff I need!
I thought I would return to WordPress for this project as it has a Wiki plugin and some very clean templates, I also like the idea of a lightweight CMS with ease of use when editing. However, after plenty of experimentation I'm finding the menu systems a little too basic and the flexibility is just not there but there seems to be plenty of 'plugins' etc around to expand, it's just a question of trawling through the thousands that are out there and trying them until I find the one that does the job.
