Just finished and interesting project for the local Braintree Taxi Association, the committee there needed a site to share information on a public and private level. They wanted it to be clean, uncluttered and easy to navigate with extra functionality for private members. The site is now complete and launched and you can take a look by visiting www.bd-ta.org
To my mind there's only one solution for this site and that was a quick and easy decision – Joomla!. With the amount of different components required and four different access levels, the project would need some descent 'man sized script' to fulfill the brief. I had to ensure that there is provision for public access, two types of driver access and a front end editor solution so news, documents etc could be posted by the committee themselves. Although I had an informed idea of how I was going to achieve this, it took some experimentation and research to come up with the right components, moreover further testing with the user access levels to ensure private content remained so.
All in all a nice small to medium sized project which was something away from the normal, the good thing is there are plans to expand at a later date so I'm sure there'll be more tests of my Joomla knowledge to get stuck into!
